How do you KNOW that?

This is REALLY timely.

With charges of FAKE NEWS! flying this way and that, how can we KNOW what is real, what is TRUE?

Carl Wieland, medical doctor and founder of Creation Ministries International relates:

Creation/Flood evidences were crucial in my own early-’70s conversion. They overcame the huge stumbling block of evolution and its associated long-age system. Looking back, I realized that my belief that evolution was fact—since about age ten—was mostly due to glossy magazine presentations, especially drawings of ‘ape-men’ (ironically, virtually all were later abandoned as viable ‘ancestor’ candidates).

Dr. Wieland was "classically trained" from his first experiences in the Australian public school system through his medical training and practice, right up to his "own early-70s [1970s] conversion. He was immersed in a sea of evolution propaganda, and it squelched any thoughts of the Creator of all. It was the grace of God, through love and scientific observation, that opened his eyes and heart to the Truth.

But, how do we KNOW the truth? That is what the branch of philosophy labeled EPISTEMOLOGY is all about, and it poses a question vital to all of us. How do we know what we know?

The Bible makes clear the most important things we know.

After displaying "mighty things" He employed to rescue Israel from Egyptian bondage, the LORD explains the epistemological purpose behind the drama.

Exodus 10:1,2 ¶ Now the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may show these signs of Mine before him, and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.”

God communicates to His people — including those who read and believe His word in our day — His POWER, His PURPOSE, His IDENTITY, and His DESIRE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE HIM. He wants YOU in that crowd.

He also makes clear that all religions (human attempts toward a relationship with the Divine) are NOT the same:

Exodus 11:7 ‘But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the LORD does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’

God knows who are His and who are not, and He wants YOU to be His!

Exodus 31:13 “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

God blesses His people, and puts protective fences around those blessings. The Sabbath is the special "day off" that God built into Creation (Exodus 20:9-11), six days of labor and one of "rest." This special rest day is a time to stop and focus attention on God, and respond to His glory in our relationship with Him, His world, and His people. In keeping that weekly rhythm we honor God, reinforce our knowledge of and relationship with Him, and enjoy life the way He designed it.

Isa 43:10 “You are My witnesses,” says the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.
